As a result of the measures taken in connection with the verification of the received operational data on a possible attempt to illegally cross the state border of RA in the Ranchpar settlement section of the Ararat region of the state border of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Turkey, it was established that on December 11, 2024, a citizen of the Republic of Armenia, an Armenian by nationality, currently a resident of the Kotayk province S.A., having damaged an engineering structure, illegally crossed the state border of the Republic of Armenia from the Republic of Turkey through the territory of the border outpost located in the Ranchpar settlement.
On this fact, a proper report on an apparent crime was submitted to the Investigative Committee of RA by the National Security Service of RA, on the basis of which a criminal proceeding was initiated under the relevant articles of the RA Criminal Code, during the preliminary investigation of which a public criminal prosecution was initiated against S. A. under Article 469, Part 3, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code, and a ban on absence was applied as a measure of restraint.
The preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note: anyone charged with a crime is considered innocent as long as his/her guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
