The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia detected and disrupted a corruption scheme in the result of operative-investigative activities and complex investigative actions undertaken within the framework of its anti-corruption activities, in which the officers of the Lori Region Medical and Social Expertise Agency of the RA Ministry of Labor and Social Affair were involved.
According to the preliminary obtained data, M.M. - the Chairman of №1 Commission of the Lori Region Medical and Social Expertise Agency of the RA and the members of the same commission, coming to the preliminary consent, being officially authorized to carry out appropriate medical and social expertise, in exchange for determining the disability group established by law, establishing deadlines and making other decisions in favor of citizens, from December 2018 to April 2019, demanded from dozens of individuals and received in general a bribe of 645.000 dram in total, 20-55.000 dram from each.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Investigation Department of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia with regard to the crime committed under Article 311 (3) (2) of the RA Criminal Code. An accusation was imposed on one person, arrest was chosen as a precautionary measure.
Preliminary investigation is conducted.

Note: A person that is suspected or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent unless his/her guilt is proved by the court judgment that has come into legal force pursuant to the procedure determined by RA Criminal Procedure Code.
