The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of operational and search measures and investigation activities undertaken within the framework of implementation of its functions to fight corruption, detected a case of demanding and receiving a bribe by a high-ranking person of the State Revenue Committee of RA.

According to the obtained preliminary data, the official of the SRC of Armavir Marz of RA, in order not to conduct inspections in the manner prescribed by law in the company dealing with sale of engine oils, not to register committed tax violations and not to make inspection visits, demanded, through a former employee of SRC of RA,   from the director of the company and personally received a bribe of large amount, 1.000.000 AMD.

Besides, operational data was received according to which the responsible employees of the mentioned company obtained, from yet unidentified sources, different types of oils that were already used or were used in exploitation of vehicles of unknown origin, as well as different types of oils meant for production. After mixing and reprocessing the abovementioned oils with other oils, they filled cans, labeled with well-known brands, with these oils and sold them under the name of these brands.

As a result of the search conducted on the warehouse territory of the company, numerous cans, filled with oil, of different sizes labeled with Mobil, Lukoil, Gazpromneft and other well-known brands, devices to make oils and to seal them up in cans, as well as still unused labels were found. An illegally kept fire arm - an improvised pistol with a drum-type magazine - loaded with ammunition – a bullet of 9mm caliber - was found as well in the company director’s office.

In the Investigation Department of the NSS of RA, a criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the apparent crime, according to corresponding articles of the Criminal Code of RA; charges have been brought against 2 persons.

The preliminary investigation is conducted. 

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA-by the court decision entered into legal force.
