The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, considering the combat against various manifestations of corruption as a priority, as a result of operational and search measures and investigative activities undertaken within the functions vested upon it by the law aimed at countering corruption,  detected case of receiving in especially large amount bribe.

In particular, factual data have been received that in 2009 official who managed community of Yerevan, during 2009 received in parts bribe 75.000 dollars in especially large amount from founder of multi-apartment building company in the city by the intercession of his brother, as well as through the officials of the Municipality, for acting in his benefit, eliminating barriers to the resumption of suspended construction and for adding several floors. In purpose to solve final problems he demanded also 200 square meters flat in the building apartment for the needs of Yerevan Municipality.  

In the Investigation Department of the NSS of RA, a criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the apparent crime, according to corresponding articles of the Criminal Code of RA. The preliminary investigation is being conducted. 

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
