The National Security Service of RA, consistently implementing the functions vested upon it by the law aimed at countering corruption, detected a case of apparent corruption crime committed by the officials of the Community Municipality of Arinj of Kotayk Marz of RA.

As a result of operational and search measures it has been established that the officials of the Community Municipality of Arinj, in order to register a land plot located in the same community in the name of a citizen, on the pretext of taking actions within their powers in the process of cadastral arrangements, during 2016 demanded from the said citizen and received in cash AMD 3.784.000 – equivalent to USD 8000- as a bribe. As a result, the abovementioned land plot of the Community Municipality passed into the possession of the mentioned citizen.

On the basis of the corresponding articles, a criminal case was initiated in this connection in the Investigation Department of the RA NSS; preliminary investigation is being conducted.

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
