As a result of comprehensive and effective operative-search measures undertaken by the relevant units of the National Security Service of RA, factual data was obtained that officials of the Yuri Vardanyan Children's and Youth Weightlifting Sports School SNCO, operating under the jurisdiction of the Gyumri Municipality, using their official position, in the period from 2010 to 2020, by prior agreement, illegally, based on selfish motives, issued orders for various staffing levels for 18 citizens and, being precisely aware of the circumstances of the latter's failure to appear for work, failure to fulfill their official duties, they received cash amounts transferred to the names of these employees, and later also through bank transfers, thus embezzling especially large amounts of money – 32.000.000 AMD, transferred from the budget of the Gyumri Municipality.

Based on the materials prepared in the Investigation Department of the RA NSS, factual data were also obtained that the director of another public organization, “Complex Children and Youth Sports School” SNCO, operating under the jurisdiction of the Gyumri Municipality, A.K. and the accountant of this organization A.P., during the period from 2009 to 2020, using their official position, with a single intent, for selfish motives, fictitiously issued orders for a total of 6 people on various staffing levels, stealing 10.600.000 AMD from the budget of the municipality.

On this fact, two criminal cases have been initiated in the Investigation Department of the RA NSS under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of RA, according to which active measures are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the case, establish the full circle of persons who committed the crime, and compensate for the damage caused to the community.

Note: the suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his/her guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
