24-09-2020
As a result of effective operative-search measures taken by the relevant units of the National Security Service of RA, apparent factual data was obtained that the employee of the RA NSS, Senior Warrant Officer A.T., using the fact that he is an employee of the RA National Security Service, influenced 6 citizens, misled them, and assured them that he could organize the process of their passing the theoretical and practical exams in the registration and examination units of the Road Police of RA without any obstacles, and thus, obtain a driver's license. Moreover, being aware of the status of one of the above-mentioned citizens, who was deprived of the right to drive a vehicle for one year as a result of a fine imposed by the employees of the Road Police of RA for drunk driving and exceeding the established speed limit, he assured that within two months he could organize the cancellation of the decision to deprive the latter of the right to drive a vehicle. However, initially not having such a goal, under the pretext of receiving a bribe, during March 2020, with a single intent, he fraudulently stole large amounts of 1.295.000 AMD from the above-mentioned citizens, as a result of which, due to circumstances beyond their control, the mentioned persons were unable to complete the crime of giving a bribe to authorized officials of the Road Police.
In connection with the case, a criminal case was initiated by the Investigation Department of the RA NSS under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of RA.
Using the permitted criminal procedural toolkit, the necessary investigative and other procedural actions are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of the case and the full circle of victims.
The National Security Service of RA calls on all citizens who have suffered as a result of other similar actions of the employee holding a junior position in the national security bodies to report them to law enforcement bodies.
Note: the suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his/her guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
