In the administrative building of the RA National Security Service, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Scientific-Educational of the RA NSS and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the RA National Academy of Sciences.

The memorandum was signed by the head of the Scientific-Educational Center of the RA NSS, Major General Hovhannes Karumyan and the director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, candidate of historical sciences, associate professor Robert Ghazaryan.

The main goal of the memorandum is to determine directions of cooperation between these scientific and educational institutions, as well as to outline further joint activities and initiatives.

According to the memorandum, the cooperation between the parties will carried out in the format of thematic hearings and seminars aimed at analyzing historical materials related to ensuring national security, organizing scientific and practical events, exchanging scientific and professional literature, teaching aids and various materials, as well as other similar formats. As part of the interaction, it is also planned to involve scientific staff of the Institute of Oriental Studies in conducting lectures on certain topics taught at the Scientific-Educational Center, as well as to involve the staff of the Center in the organizational work of the Institute for admission to graduate and doctoral studies, registration as a candidate for an academic degree, as well as in the processes of providing methodological assistance in the development and defense of dissertations. According to the memorandum of cooperation, it is also planned to organize explanatory work with master’s students of the Institute in order to familiarize them with the functions of the RA NSS, the activities of the Center and the procedure for recruiting to serve in the national security bodies.

The parties assured that the scientific and educational experience of the Scientific-Educational Center of the RA NSS and the Institute of Oriental Studies of the RA NAS, accumulated over the years, will significantly influence the deepening of historical and other research in the field of national security, and the further improvement of the professional knowledge of employees.
