As a result of operative-search measures and criminal procedural actions carried out by officers of the Yerevan City Department of the RA National Security Service, it was established that the competent persons of “Armenian-Russian International University “Mkhitar Gosh”” entered deliberately false data into the accounting and other settlement documents established by law, which are the basis for taxation, on the amount of the annual tuition fee for foreign students studying at the mentioned university, as a result of which, during 2018-2021 they avoided the fulfilling of tax liabilities for income tax in especially large amounts - about 99.453.992 AMD.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated in the Investigation Department of the RA NSS on the grounds of Article 205, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, which was sent to the investigative jurisdiction for the purpose of conducting a preliminary investigation.

Note: The suspect or accused of an alleged crime is considered innocent as long as his guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
