Based on factual data obtained as a result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions carried out during the preliminary investigation in criminal proceedings N 58221423, initiated on May 13, 2023 and carried out in the Main Directorate of Investigation of the RA National Security Service, at the request of the investigator, a decision was made by the supervising prosecutor to initiate public criminal prosecution under the relevant articles of the RA Criminal Code against a member of the criminal group, the head of the import and procurement department of Mrgeni LLC M.Gh. for illegal sale of narcotic drugs in especially large quantities and smuggling of narcotic drugs in especially large quantities by prior agreement as part of a group. The latter was detained to stand trial.

In criminal proceedings, large-scale and various operative-search, investigative and procedural actions continue to be taken in the direction of identifying the full picture of the crimes committed, detecting other persons associated with the above-mentioned cases, initiating public criminal prosecution against them and, as a result, effectively implementing the principle of inevitability of criminal liability.

Note: anyone charged with a crime is considered innocent as long as his/her guilt is not proven in a manner prescribed by the Code of Criminal Procedure of RA - by the court decision entered into legal force.
