“Armenian Intelligence Officer of 4 Parts of the World” Celebrates His 100th Аnniversary

December 19 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of intelligence officer, colonel in reserve, and employee with many years of experience in the security bodies of Armenia Petros Artashes Petrosyan.
Colonel P. Petrosyan was born in 1923 in Gyumri. He studied at the Tbilisi Artillery School, and participated in the Great Patriotic War as an artillery battery commander. In 1946, he entered the Faculty of International Relations at YSU, from where he was invited to work in the state security bodies of the ASSR. In almost 20 years of intelligence activity, he worked in Lebanon, the USA, France, Iraq, and Egypt. In 1973-1978, he was the head of the first department (foreign intelligence) of the ASSR CSS. In 1993-2003, he taught at the higher courses of the RA NSS (at the Scientific-Educational Center). Since 2010, he is the Chairman of the Committee of War Veterans and the RA Armed Forces.
He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, the first degree Order of the Patriotic War, the badge “Honored Worker of State Security,” and many medals.
In 2009, his book “Pages from the Life of a Scout” was published.
