On December 20, the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia held a ceremonial session on the occasion of the Day of National Security Bodies, in which the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan took part.
The Director of the National Security Service, Major General Armen Abazyan, made a welcoming speech, who congratulated the officers of the National Security Bodies on the occasion of their professional holiday and presented the results of the work done in the main areas during 2023, at the same time noting that the border guard outposts have been improved, landscaped and technically re-equipped, and service apartments were built, furnished and put into operation.
“The Service is also working towards the continuous development of the process of special training, retraining and advanced training of personnel. Since 2023, a process of certification of military personnel has been carried out, as a result of which military personnel have the opportunity to improve their professional knowledge, as well as their financial situation,” said A. Abazyan.
Summing up the results of the work performed by the main divisions of the National Security Bodies in 2023, Armen Abazyan stated that the constant focus of the Service’s leadership is also on existing problems and omissions, to eliminate which daily consistent work is being carried out.
On the occasion of their professional holiday, officers of the National Security Bodies were also congratulated by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, who thanked the officers of the Service for their determination to continuously improve the quality of work.
I highly appreciate the work of the Service and, of course, everyone understands that the nature of the NSS is very complex and serving in the NSS is not easy. It is normal that serving in NSS is not easy, because higher standards should apply here. And I think that it is our common desire, and you are primarily interested in the reputation of the service, the reputation of the profession, so that all the standards in the NSS are increasingly raised in terms of integrity, professionalism, etc.,” said the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia N. Pashinyan.
On the occasion of the Day of the National Security Bodies Officers Nikol Pashinyan awarded a group of officers of the National Security Service with a commemorative medal of the Prime Minister for their contribution to strengthening the security, law and order and legitimacy of the motherland.
The Prime Minister noted that he had submitted a petition to the President of the Republic to award a group of NSS officers with the “Combat service” medal.
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan also added that by the Decree of the President of the Republic, the Director of the NSS, Major General A. Abazyan, was awarded the military rank of Lieutenant General and the Deputy Director of the NSS, Andranik Simonyan was awarded the military rank of Major General.
In accordance with the message of the day, the Director of the RA NSS, Deputy Directors, heads of the Main Directorates of the NSS and the First Deputy Commander - Chief of Staff of the Border Guard Troops of the RA NSS paid tribute to the memory of the border guards who heroically died while fulfilling their duty, and laid flowers at the khachkar-monuments installed in their honor.
