On the transfer of primary information by the National Security Service of RA to other competent authorities, as well as on the progress of initiated criminal proceedings during 2023

During the reporting period, as a result of the implementation of the functions assigned by law, 1193 materials were transmitted by the RA National Security Service to various competent state bodies of RA, on the basis of which 610 criminal proceedings were initiated.  

277 materials on violations committed in the economic sphere were sent to competent state bodies of RA, some of which are still in the  at the investigation stage, of which 102 are about abuse of official position and misappropriation, 135 are about various violations in the field of economic activity, including smuggling or importation under false invoices, as well as evasion of taxes and duties, 27 - about payment of wages to an actually not working person, 13 - about illegal provision of compensation.

118 materials on violations committed in the sphere of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were sent to the competent state bodies of RA, some of which are still at the investigation stage, of which 78 are about the smuggling or sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, 40 are about illegal use of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances.

During the reporting year, 1464 criminal proceedings were investigated by investigators of the Main Directorate of Investigation of the RA NSS, of which 488 criminal proceedings were initiated by investigators of the Main Directorate, 51 - separated from other proceedings, 118 - received from other bodies, 515 criminal proceedings were resumed, 292 criminal proceedings were postponed from 2022.

During the reporting year, out of the criminal proceedings investigated by the Main Directorate of Investigation, 116 criminal proceedings against 205 persons were sent to court, 83 were terminated, 1134 criminal proceedings were sent under investigative jurisdiction, 131 proceedings were combined with other proceedings investigated by the Main Directorate of Investigation.

During the mentioned period, according to the criminal proceedings initiated and investigated in the Main Directorate of Investigation of the RA NSS, the total amount of damage caused by the crimes, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 21.599.971.962 AMD, of which the amount of initial damage caused to the state amounted to 16.843.507.934 AMD, to legal entities – 1.586.361.043 AMD, and to individuals - 3.170.102.985 AMD.

At the same time, at the stage of preliminary investigation, 433.583.652 AMD were restored from the specified damage caused to the state.
